This year St Margaret’s Wychling Church will be delivering a series of worship sessions for families called ‘Wild Church’. As the title implies, they will be taking place outside, within the wonderful created world that God has entrusted to us.
During the sessions, we will be exploring how our actions impact on the world, and the consequences those actions have on the lives of other people.
Wild Church has a strong bias towards environmentally friendly practices, and we seek to use entirely natural materials, eco resources and fairly traded /organic and vegetarian provisions in our ministry.
At Wychling we are blessed with a setting that is conducive to this expression of our faith, nestled as we are, among woodland and fields. Our aim is to bring our young people to God in a way that engages them with His creation, by offering scripture based seasonal eco activities. The freedom of our outside venue gives ample scope for play as well as contemplation, creating a fun, but considered approach to caring for God’s world, and instilling a sense of personal responsibility.
Wild Church will be held on the last Saturday of the month starting on April 29th from 10.00am until 12 noon with snacks made and cooked on site over an open fire.
The suggested age range for Wild Church is 7 – 13 years, but families are welcome to bring children of other age groups. Please make sure that adequate clothing is worn depending on the weather as, although we have a canopy shelter, it can still be chilly. Due to the nature of the outside environment we ask that all children are closely supervised, though every effort will be made to provide a safe and fun area.
We do not ask for an entry fee, but donations towards food and materials
will be appreciated.
